Are the bricks prone to greening?

Greening or algae formation occurs only when the bricks are thoroughly wet and do not have a chance to dry out. This can be caused by an underlying construction fault where rainwater systematically drips off onto the same bricks, thus not giving them a chance to dry out. However, since the Lowie Bricks contain a high degree of moisture transport (higher than for ceramic facing bricks), the bricks dry out faster and are also less likely to be thoroughly wet and it is less likely that greening will occur.

As with ceramic facing bricks, if greening does occur, it is always temporary and disappears once the bricks dry out.
