The absorption rate of the Lowie Bricks on the coated facing side is 16%. This is a normal absorption rate for dipped facing bricks. The absorption on the laying surfaces is 30%. This, so that the bricks 'grab' the masonry mortar well and are easier to work with.

The solid coating on the visible side of the bricks thus reduces the external absorption rate.
