No, each Lowie Brick contains a coated side with slight grain in the texture and a raw, uncoated side. It is very important that the bricks are placed with the coated side facing forward. Also at the corners, the bricks should be placed with coated ends facing forward. One in three bricks has a coated end. These should therefore be sorted out beforehand to ensure that there are enough bricks with coated ends. The uncoated end faces are not usable and are marked with a horizontal line to avoid confusion.

If the uncoated sides would still be processed, we recommend treatment with a hydrofuge.
